Roane County schools has several Federal programs designed to benifit our students. Below you'll find information partaining to Title I and Title II as well as the Rural and Low income program.
Title I and Title II
Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
Title II- Part A: Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting Fund
The purpose of this part is to provide grants to State educational agencies, local educational agencies, State agencies for higher education, and eligible partnerships in order to —
- Increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principal quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools; and
- Hold local educational agencies and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement.
