Walton High School was rebuilt two years after it was destroyed by fire in 1940 and housed students from grades 7-12 until the consolidation with Spencer High School in 1993 which formed Roane County High School.

Walton High School is the source of many memories for its graduates. The pictures of each graduating class that once adorned the hallways are now being stored temporarily at the Walton Volunteer Fire Department. Some may look upon the building as old, gray and drab but for those students who laughed in the halls, cheered at the games and were granted their diploma in the gymnasium, Walton High School will always have a special place in their hearts.
