Dear Parents:

I would like to welcome you and your child to my social studies classroom. I have provided you with information that will help you have a better understanding of how my class will work this year.  If you have any questions throughout the year, please feel free to contact me during my planning time (1:16 - 2:03) at 927-6428. I will give my e-mail address upon request by a parent or guardian.

 


 

Text Box: Student Responsibilities:

 

          

Ø Come to class prepared: Bring with you every day, textbook, notebook, assignment book, paper, & pencils with erasers.

Ø If student is absent:  Students are to go to the absent work station located in the front of the room. Students will find assignment written in my assignment book and any additional handouts. Students are to see work is made up and turned in to teacher on time. This is the student’s responsibility.

Ø Homework: Bring homework back the next day! All students will be held accountable for each assignment’s due date. I don’t give homework every day so when I give it, I expect it to be done.

Ø Tests: Students will have both content tests and map test. Students will know in advance when tests will take place. Students will receive a review day and a study guide before each test.

  


 

Grading Policy:

      Grades will be based on a points system. Every assignment given will be graded. Letter grades will be assigned according to the Roane County Schools grading policy. Points will be assigned the following ways.

*    Tests: 100 points

*    Quizzes: 10-50 points

*    Homework: 10-50 points

*    Team Projects: point value will be assigned based on project

 


 

I understand that students and parents have busy lives. I also understand that students need to learn some responsibility. Your child will be held accountable for their work in my classroom. Each of my students will be treated with respect and equality. What is good for one is good for all!
