Room 202

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!

We're changing here at G.E.M.S. - Not only are we going through the physical construction you see as you pass by the school, we are also changing the way we do things in the classroom! Your child will be learning and doing things in some new and exciting ways. I plan to incorporate a great deal of technology into the curriculum this year, and my class will be working on more group projects and hands-on related activities.

Below are some things I hope you will find helpful, as well as links to some of my other pages. I am enthusiastically looking forward to working with your child, as well as meeting and working with all of "my kids'" parents! I will be adding things throughout the school year, so be sure to check here from time to time to see what's new!

Some things we will learn:

Our curriculum is driven by CSOs (Content Standards & Objectives) written by the WV Dept. of Education to guide our curriculum.

The CSOs provide a descriptor of what students in the third grade should know and be able to do.

To see the CSOs for your child's grade level, click on the link below.

 * Technology... computers and sooooo much more. We will be working with the interactive whiteboard, responders (hand-held answering devices), and lots more!

 * We will learn to be critical thinkers

*Great Writing Skills - How to write paragraphs and great stories.
