2) Via Parkersburg: Traveling from Parkersburg, at the intersection of I-77 and Mineral Wells, exit the Interstate and proceed via Route 14 approximately 40 miles South through Elizabeth to Spencer.
3) Via Clendenin and Walton: Traveling from Charleston, exit I-79 at exit #19, turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp, travel 300 feet and turn left onto Route 119 North. Proceed approximately 8 miles to Walton. Proceed approximately 30 miles in total on Route 119 North traveling through Walton and Gandeeville to Spencer.
4) Via Arnoldsburg Road: Traveling from Glenville, follow Route 33 West past Arnoldsburg continuing on to Spencer via Route 33 West. If coming South on I-79, exit at the Big Otter exit and travel Route 16 North towards Arnoldsburg approximately 25 miles. At the intersection of Route 16 North and Route 33, turn left on Route 33 towards Spencer, approximately 12 miles.
5) Via Wallback or Lefthand: Traveling from Wallback or Lefthand via Route 36 North, follow Route 36 to Spencer where it junctions with Route 119. Turn right at the cement bridge at that junction. Downtown Spencer is less than 1 mile.
Directions to the Main Board Office (Also the Warehouse/Office Complex)
From Charleston, take I-79 North for 20 miles, Exit 19 onto Route 119 North for 8 miles, stay on the main road till you pass through Walton, then 8 miles to Gandeeville, 8 miles on to Spencer. As you approach Spencer on the outskirts of town, you will pass by the Rt. 36 Bridge, do not turn there, go straight ahead for about 500 feet into town. The Main Board Office and Warehouse/Office Complex will be a red brick building on your right immediately after passing the tennis courts on your left. The Board Office is directly across Rt. 119 from the Handimart gas station.
From Ripley, follow Rt. 33 East towards Spencer 25 miles, you will pass the first stoplight at the juncture of Rt. 33 East and Rt. 14, the second stoplight in the middle of town in front of the Courthouse, and at the third stoplight, turn right onto Rt. 199 South. About a half mile on your left you will see the sign Roane County Schools Board Office on your left. It is a red brick building with a parking lot in front of it. It is directly across Rt. 119 from the Handimart gas station.
From Parkersburg, follow Rt. 14 South through Elizabeth on to Spencer. When you drop down off the hill into Spencer, you will come to the first stoplight in Spencer at the junction of Rt. 33 and Rt. 14. Immediately turn left onto Rt. 33 East. The second stoplight will be in the middle of town in front of the Courthouse, and at the third stoplight, turn right onto Rt. 199 South. About a half mile on your left you will see the sign Roane County Schools Board Office on your left. It is a red brick building with a parking lot in front of it. Spencer Middle School:
1) Traveling from Ripley on Route 33 East at the first traffic light in Spencer, turn left onto Route 14 North. At the second street on the right, turn right onto Shilling Street. You will then be looking straight ahead at the Spencer Middle School brick building.
2) Traveling from Parkersburg via Route 14 South, you will pass Eventide Cemetery when you come down the hill into Spencer; at the bottom of that hill you will pass Spring Creek Road and Bowman Street on your left, and the next street to your left is Shilling Street. Turn left onto Shilling and traveling 1 block will lead you to Spencer Middle School straight ahead.
3) Traveling from Clendenin and Walton via Route 119 North, come to Spencer to the intersection of Route 33 West. Turn left at this traffic light, straight through the next traffic light, and then turn right onto Route 14 North at the 3rd traffic light. The second street to your right is Schilling Street and will lead you to Spencer Middle School.
4) Traveling from Arnoldsburg via Route 33 West, upon arriving in Spencer travel through two traffic lights straight ahead to the 3rd traffic light at which you will turn right onto Route 14 North. At the second street on your right you will turn onto Schilling Street and Spencer Middle School is straight ahead.
5) Traveling from Wallback or Lefthand via Route 36 North, come to junction of Route 36 and Route 119, turn right till you arrive at the first traffic light at the junction of Route 119 North and Route 33. Turn left at first light onto Route 33 West. Traveling through the second light and arriving at the third light, turn right onto Route 14 North. Schilling Street is second street on your right. At the second street on your right you will turn onto Schilling Street and Spencer Middle School is straight ahead.
Geary Elementary/Middle School:
From Charleston, WV, travel North I-79 to Amma Exit, turn right off of the exit ramp onto a county road. Approximately four miles to Route 36 from Amma exit. When you reach Route 36, turn right and you will be looking at the school just ahead on the right. An alternate direction would be to exit North I-79 at Wallback and travel Route 36 South till you see Geary School on your left. From Spencer, take Route 36 South approximately 22 miles to Geary School on your right.
Spencer Elementary School (former Spencer Primary Center):
1) Traveling from Ripley, upon arriving in Spencer, go through two traffic lights on Route 33 East. At the third traffic light, turn right onto Route 119 South. Travel just over ½ mile to junction of Route 36 and 119. Turn left and go across bridge onto Route 36. Travel 500 feet on Route 36, and turn left before going across another bridge; the school sign is on your left. The school is within sight up on the hill.
2) Traveling from Clendenin via Route 119 North, just on the outskirts of Spencer turn right across cement bridge at junction of Route 36. Approximately 500 feet on Route 36 is school on left.
3) Traveling from Arnoldsburg via Route 33 West, upon arriving in Spencer at first traffic light, turn left onto Route 119 South. A little over ½ mile to junction of Route 36 and 119. Turn left and go across bridge onto Route 36. Travel 500 feet on Route 36, and turn left before going across another bridge; the school is on your left.
4) Traveling from Wallback or Lefthand via Route 36 South, about 500 feet outside of Spencer, before you arrive at the Route 36/Route 119 junction, you will see the school on your right on hill. Cross cement bridge, then immediately turn right to get to school on hill.
Walton Elementary/Middle School:
1) Traveling from Charleston via North I-79 to Clendenin Exit (Exit #19), turn right off the exit ramp and travel about 200 feet and turn left onto Route 119 North. Proceed approximately 8 miles to Walton. Travel past the fire station across a cement bridge, and when you see Poca Valley Bank on the right, turn immediately left in the turn onto Poca Road. Travel down Poca Road about 1 mile and you will see the school sign on your left. Turn left at that sign and school is just ahead about 700 feet.
2) From Spencer, travel Route 119 South approximately 15 miles to Walton. With Poca Valley Bank on your left, turn right onto Poca Road. Travel down Poca Road about 1 mile and you will see the school sign on your left. Turn left at that sign and the school is just ahead about 700 feet.
County Bus Garage:
1) Traveling from Ripley, stay on Route 33 East through the third traffic light, and Save-A-Lot grocery store will be on your left at the 4th traffic light and Walmart on your right. After going through the 4th traffic light, immediately past the fire station on your right will be the Roane County School Main Bus Garage.
2) Traveling from Parkersburg, upon coming to the first traffic light, turn left at the junction of Route 14 and 33 if coming in from Route 14, and if coming from Ripley direction pass the first traffic light, and then either direction will pass the 4th traffic light on Route 33 East. Immediately past the fire station on your right will be the Roane County Schools Bus Garage.
Reedy Elementary School:
1) Traveling from the Charleston direction via Ripley, upon arriving at the junction of Route 33 East and Route 14 North, turn left on Route 14 North. Travel Route 14 approximately 10-11 miles. Immediately after crossing a big bridge, turn left. Follow this street straight through the small town of Reedy. When you come to a street with a Reedy Elementary School sign, turn right. Travel almost to the end of the street, turn right again for 1 block, then turn left. The school is straight ahead about 2 blocks.
2) Traveling from the Clendenin and Walton direction, upon arriving at the first traffic light in Spencer, turn left onto Route 33 West. At the 3rd traffic light, turn right onto Route 14 North. Reedy Elementary is 10-11 miles as above.
3) Traveling from the Parkersburg direction via Route 14 South, travel approximately 16 miles south of Elizabeth to Reedy. Turn right at gas station, before crossing cement bridge, and follow this street straight through town as above.
4) Traveling from the Arnoldsburg direction via Route 33 West, upon arriving in Spencer proceed through the first and second traffic lights to the 3rd traffic light, turn right onto Route 14 North. Reedy Elementary is 10-11 miles as above.
Roane County High School:
1) Traveling from Ripley via Route 33 East, proceed through the first two traffic lights to the third traffic light in Spencer, turn right onto Route 119 South. Approximately 2.5 miles on your right you will see the main entrance to Roane County High School with a sign on your right. You can see the school on top of the hill.
2) Traveling from Parkersburg via Route 14 South, upon arriving in Spencer at the first traffic light at the junction of Route 33, turn left. Proceed through the second light, and at the 3rd light turn right onto Route 119 South. Approximately 2.5 miles on your right you will see the main entrance to Roane County High School with a sign on your right. You can see the school on top of the hill.
3) Traveling from Clendenin and Walton via Route 119 North, you will travel approximately 15.5 miles. Turn left at the main entrance to Roane County High School.
4) Traveling from Arnoldsburg via Route 33 West, upon arriving in Spencer, turn left at the first traffic light onto Route 119 South. Approximately 2.5 miles on your right you will see the main entrance to Roane County High School with a sign on your right. You can see the school on top of the hill.
5) Traveling from Wallback or Lefthand via Route 36 North, upon arriving at the junction of Route 36 and Route 119 in Spencer, turn left immediately after crossing the cement bridge onto Route 119 South. Approximately 2.5 miles on your right you will see the main entrance to Roane County High School with a sign on your right. You can see the school on top of the hill.
